On a previous post we showed Cyber Punk Fashion for women. The trend is now welcoming men into the style fix! Cyber Punk for men is very cutting edge, but I warn you, DO NOT GO OUT LOOKING LIKE A TIN MAN OR THE GUY FROM STAR TREK!! When wearing the metallic shoes, wear dark jeans such as black or a deep indigo blue jean and pair it with a jewel tone top. Metallic/Gunmetal looks best when paired with a jewel tone (Sapphire, Turquoise, Emerald, Amethyst)

Crave of the Moment: Get The Boot!

Fall/Winter 08/09 for men's footwear is all about updating your shoe/boot collection with new innovative and recreated boot styles. Innovation and renovation in boot fashion has traditionally mainly occurred in women's footwear but that is no longer the case. There is a wide array of different boot styles available for men, including snow boots, mountain boots, hiking & woods boots, biker boots, military boots, and the hybrid sneaker boot.

As promised, Crave Collision has featured Rihanna's hot new video for her infectious song "Rehab." The video premiered today via MTV, and I must say Rihanna shot one amazing video! The filmography is excellent, the concept is nailed 100%. "Disturbia" was the single prior to "Rehab" and that was an excellent video as well. The desert scenes of her on the car with Justin Timberlake reminds me of Victoria and David Beckham's magazine shoot for W Magazine.

Rihanna Considers Rehab!

All of you Rihanna fans are about to be "Reloaded" with yet another (sure to reach #1) song "Rehab." The video is set to premiere on MTV on November 17th according to Defjam Records. Ryan Seacrest premiered the preview video on his website http://www.kiisfm.com/. I'm completely ready to be fully engaged in Ms. Fenty's next single. She always manages to churn out a hot single with a blazing video concept. Plus, Rih is a major style icon!

This year the world was introduced to a new trend, Cyber Punk. The style is an infusion of robots and outer space. Beyonce' recently rocked a unique robot-esq  glove to the MTV EMA's earlier this month for her performance of her new single "If I Were A Boy." The glove definitely adds an edgier appeal to her than her usual ordinary style. Victoria Beckham rocked a pair of extreme silver pumps with a R2D2 style dress for a past photo shoot. 

Cyber Punk is styled in various ways. Latex leggings, neon colors, bold exaggerated collars and shoulders are an example of this style. New comer, Lady Gaga emulates this style in a Retro Glamor futuristic appeal. The style is even evident in ATL natives Keri Hilson and Ciara videos for "Return The Favor" and  "Go Girl."

For those who may have not known, B Season has officially kicked off and is in full effect. Beyonce has been just about everywhere lately promoting her two current singles "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)". She recently opened the World Music Awards with a performance of both singles. This was her first time performing "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)". Geeks may get the last laugh after all! Geek chic is in full effect on the runways and in the streets. Supermodels and urban hipsters can be found sporting these once dorky frames almost as often as sunglasses. On the streets for Fall/Winter 08'-09 there will be fur to be seen everywhere! Designers such as Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, and Chanel has fur falling all on their catwalks for Fall/Winter 08-09. Fur will be hitting the sleepless streets of New York and the nightlife scene of Charlotte NC. Whether its authentic fur or faux fur it will be sure to make a statement. Though faux fur has seen its danger days, as it once was so taboo to be caught with one arm in faux fur. People would criticize a person for wearing faux fur, thinking if you were going to wear faux fur you might as well not wear it, because it was a disgrace to those that wore the real deal.

Fur vests are of major trend now for the fall/winter as well. I am a huge fan of faux fur vests, because they instantly make an outfit edgy or chic. Retailers such as Topshop,Topman (faux fur coat) has featured these vests on their website for an affordable price. Glam Twins: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen has featured fur coats and vests in their brand Elizabeth and James.

Looking as stunning as ever, Gwyneth Paltrow makes the Paparazzi go INSANE for her see-through Antonio Berardi Lace dress! The dress definitely captures the elegance yet edgy side of Gwyneth. For Fall 2008, Lace has become a MAJOR trend. More designers have incorporated lace into their designs to give it an elegant and hard edge feel at the same time. Mixing hard pieces with soft feminine items such as apparel, jewelry, and shoes are of major trend this fall/winter.

Crave of the Moment: Plaid is the New Black

The Return of Plaid

Plaid has completely taken over the fashion industry this season, even though it started making its appearance in fashion again in late 2007. It can be found in dresses, skirts, shirts, jackets, hats, underwear, and even shoes. Some may fear that the return of plaid is revenge of the lumberjacks, attack of the tablecloth or the comeback of early 90s grunge, but this time it is tastefully executed. Designers have filled their runways with plaid for their Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collections. Designers who have featured plaid ion their runways include Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs, and Dolce & Gabbana.

A hint of plaid adds just enough edge and fun to any simple outfit. For example, layering a plaid dress shirt under a simple tailored suit will transform the look from being classic and ordinary to edgy and modern. The pattern can be found in men's and women's apparel. This trend is equally accessible to both genders, which is great. I personally have always liked plaid, so I'm glad to see it be reinvented and tastefully updated.
