According to Nielson SoundScan, Britney Spears's new LP Circus has landed in the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, with over 500,000 units sold. She also currently still holds the top album spot and the top song spot with "Circus" on iTunes. Congrats to Ms. Spears on Circus going gold in the first week and for the continued steady digital downloads and sales of the album.

A new trend has been reported on the runways for the upcoming seasons of Spring/Summer 2009. The new trend has notes from Ancient Egyptian style, as its channeling Nefertiti and King Tut of Egypt. The Nefertiti hair do is so avant-garde, the breast metal chain dress by Benjamin Cho reminds me of Egyptian Warriors, and the Balmain design is very King Tut-esq.

I for one, am a major fan of the major heavy detail construction of the garments. It creates an edgy and empowering aura about the design. The trend is really interesting because it takes us on a trip discovering new ideas for personal style, perhaps an exodus for some.

The Presidential Inauguration Ceremony is quickly approaching, and top name designers are cranking out designs for Michelle Obama to hopefully choose and wear as her Inauguration gown. A total of 36 sketches have been created and forwarded to the First Lady-Elect. Four of these sketches are pictured above.

Mr. Marc Jacobs has introduced his new muse in the new ad for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2009, and who better to choose for the position than, the Material Girl herself, Madonna. Madonna was previously the muse for fashion house Versace. The photos are slightly dark, but are reminiscent of the Wild Wild West days of the women in saloons. In another view, the pics kinda depict an old tavern located in France. I think the pics are hott, but the shoes are what i'm dying over!
